Uncategorized / May 5, 2022 by faystonvt

The Town of Fayston, Vermont, nestled in the Madriver Valley (host to two ski areas, outdoor recreation galore, with beautiful mountains, valleys, and streams) is looking for a new member of our team to take on a significant role in providing municipal services for residents, property owners and visitors in our community.  The Zoning, Planning and Administration Assistant is a 32 hour a week hourly position, entrusted with land use permitting, Development Review Board (DRB) and Planning Commission (PC) Administrator, E911 Coordinator, Health Officer, and other essential municipal services including grant writing/administration and road inventory data maintenance.  The Town is looking for someone who is up for the challenge of guiding community members through our “zoning” procedures and maintaining a high level of public confidence and customer service in Town operations, whether it be through answering questions or enforcing our land use regulations.

It is critical for a prospective candidate to have organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to follow-through, public communication skills, customer service skills, and a solution-based focus.  The ideal candidate will have experience with administering regulatory or similar processes, possessing a leadership role in managing customer/client relations, and/or delivering public communications on complex topics.  The selected employee will be expected to work effectively with all community members and town employees.

Please review the full job description at faystonvt.com.  Salary based on experience and qualifications.  To apply, please send a resume and cover letter to
[email protected].  Resumes will be reviewed upon receipt by the hiring committee. The hiring committee will make recommendations to the Planning Commission who will, in turn, recommend candidate(s) to the Selectboard. The Selectboard will make the final hiring decision.   Resumes will be accepted until the position is filled.
