SATURDAY, MAY 1, 2021 – GREEN UP DAY!!!
Green Up Day is a state-wide volunteer Spring clean-up of roadside litter. It is a fun activity for the whole family, is good for the planet and spruces up our local community!
FAYSTON GREEN UP DAY INFORMATION:
The Fayston Conservation Commission is coordinating Green Up Day efforts in Fayston. Green Up bags will be placed at most street intersections on signposts or stop signs. There will be extra bags available outside the Fayston Town Office on N. Fayston Road.
We thank every one of you who will be helping to clean up our roads! Be extra careful to adhere to state COVID guidelines for the use of masks and gloves. Huge thank you to the Green Mountain Valley School for their participation!!
Please EITHER take the trash you collect to the Earthwise Transfer Station in Waitsfield before 1 pm on Saturday, OR, leave your full Green Up bags on the side of the road. The Fayston Road Crew will be picking up remaining bags and taking them for disposal Monday morning, May 3rd.
If you find any tires during your Green Up Day roadside clean up, the Mad River Resource Management Alliance (MRRMA) will be at the Earthwise Transfer Station in Waitsfield until 1:00 pm on Saturday and will take the tires at no charge. They will also take car and pick-up truck tires from people who want to manage their own tire disposal at a charge of $4.00 per tire with or without rims.
We will not be collecting returnables. You will have to separate these, wash them, and return them yourself OR throw them out with any other trash you pick up.
